The future of substance misuse services in Kent .

Reducing reoffending, recovery and reintegration. All this and more can be achieved with a new prison drug and alcohol treatment service model.

Integrated Prison Substance Misuse Service Specification Consultation

Kent and Medway Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (KDAAT/MDAAT) are proposing to commission a new combined drug and alcohol service within Kent and Medway Prisons and the Dover Immigration Removal Centre.

The service will be managed by one provider under one contract but may be delivered with support from a number of providers including those in the local voluntary and community sector through subcontracting arrangements.

The service will have a greater focus on reducing reoffending, recovery and reintegration. It will include advice, information and brief interventions through to specialist treatment, and referral back into community services where required.

Your views are important to us. We are consulting to ensure that we understand local needs and we will use the results to improve the delivery of our services.

The consultation closed at 5pm on 13th February 2012, KDAAT are now considering the responses. An update will be published here as soon as it is available
