This document describes the joint approach that will be taken by
staff of the following organisations, in respect of residents of
Kent and Medway aged 18 years and over, who require treatment and
or support for co-existing mental health and substance misuse
disorders.
It is intended to foster joint working between services and
maintain and build on each organisation’s specialist role within
the mental health and substance misuse system.

West Kent substance misuse service specification

This consultation aimed to find out what service users, their
families, friends and carers, drug workers, organisations providing
drug or alcohol treatment services, local organisations and
anyone who wishes to express a view feels about the proposed
service model set out in the service specification.

gathering views from service users and other interested parties to
help us achieve a comprehensive understanding of what is working
and what can be improved on in drug and alcohol treatment
services.
Events: Those
who joined the consultation were asked to participate
in activities that identified what helped and hindered
their treatment journey and what elements of treatment services
they valued.
Outcome: The
responses gathered at this event will be collated in
an evaluation report for the KDAAT operations team.
Tier 4 inpatient detoxification
consultation

Maidstone and Canterbury
Aim: We are
gathering views from service users and other interested parties to
help us achieve a comprehensive understanding of the factors that
are most valuable or important in an in-patient detoxification
facility.
Events: Those
who joined the consultation were asked to participate in
small discussion groups that will be facilitated by members of the
KDAAT Service User Expert Group.
Outcome: The
responses gathered at this event were collated into a
confidential document that will be submitted with the inpatient
detoxification evaluation report to the KDAAT Board.
